Dentity is on a mission to increase online privacy, trust, and digital identity ownership for consumers just like you, and being a user of Dentity is the first step towards doing just that, while making your identity an asset that benefits you!
Here are a few key things you should know about your Dentity account and the main features — Wallet, Connect, and Profile. In order to unlock some features, you’ll be required to verify your identity — this keeps the Dentity community safe and filled with verifiable humans!
Dentity Wallet is where you securely store your identity information. This information goes well beyond the basic identifiers that we all have come to associate with our “identity” and includes all the things that comprise who you are, like your associations, interests, and achievements. These are stored as “credentials” in your wallet — they are encrypted, secure, and can be shared in a way that protects your privacy. More and more credentials are being offered through Dentity, so check back often!
Dentity Connect is where you can build trust with the people you interact with online using our verified identity system. Users often use Connect to verify the identity of others they meet or transact with online (ex: dating apps, marketplaces, social media, and more). You can get started by pressing the blue Connect button and entering the mobile number of the person you want to share information with. Also, you can select what information you want to verify, or if you want the verification to be anonymous — meaning, no personal information is shared, you only want to confirm a verified identity (that is, they are the real deal!). You’ll be notified when the verify their information.
Each wallet address has a profile, which you can use to share parts of your verified identity information. You can choose to share as much or as little as you like, and you can create a custom profile link which you can use everywhere online. Only those Dentity users which have had their identity verified can have a profile, so having one means you have a verified digital identity.
